Man you ain't lying, I ran a load out there around the second week of this b.s. and it was a ghost town. Made Orange County/ LA look like it was busy.

I know we’re not gonna bounce back right away once this is over. I’m gonna see how things go between now and new year.

Vegas is a different area than me I’m in Northeast but how many loads per shift do you do when it’s average to busy, before the pandemic.

Here in socal we were running 4-5 a night in 12hrs. Now that's fully loaded, drop, then back to the rack to refill. Miss hauling fuel sometimes.

I'm in NC we laid off all the trainees then 5 experienced drivers(voluntary)...they are all still out. We just started working 5 days again. this time last year I was 6 or 7 loads a night and now 4 is normal. Pre layoffs id come in and run 2 and be done. Slowly getting better but this has tanked my year.

Have you thought about a grocery distributor?
No matter how lock downed the place is, people have to eat. Even the most frightened ones.

The wait times to be unloaded at grocery distributors are horrible. It doesn’t take 8 hours to unload a gas tanker. I want to go home at the end of my shift too.

I’m not talking about delivering to a grocery distribution. I’m talking about driving for one. Publix, Kroger, Safeway etc.

It will take time to get back to normal. I haul in Florida for a smaller company. At the beginning of lockdown I was dropped from a 5 day work week, to a 4 day work week, to a 2 day work week, and then ultimately was laid off. The lay off only lasted a couple weeks and I was brought back on. We were struggling to pull 8 hour days but it was better than nothing. Now we are back to 5 days a week 12 hour shifts. It is still no where near to what it was before, but being in Florida we have beaches opening and I think Disney is back open ... so there is travel. I would give it at least a couple months before it is stable ... not sure how long until pre-lockdown sales.

Didn’t get to read through the whole thread but here in Michigan I pulled 130 hours my last two weeks and we’re getting extended. Looks like another 130 coming too.

    ronjeremyjr Thanks this.
