I recently bought a 93 R Mod with Mack Rears, when you are Giving it Fuel everything is fine but, when you let off the Throttle, it makes one of the Loudest "Roaring" noises I've ever heard come from a Truck! Pulled the Inspection cover off the Rear, rear, and turned the drive shaft by hand to check the Back lash and there is very little play in the Pinion but, play from there down,....any Ideas?

My jeep did that when the yoke and wheel bearings were going out.

If you are lucky it’s a pinion bearing.

find it now or you will find it in pieces. Hope you're in a warmer place.
Right now I am getting a vibration in my driveline - and its just too cold to mess with.
Felt for play everywhere and do not see anything.
Hope that don't end up in pieces.
