A lot of states have signs that say left lane for passing only. Probably goes right along with what your saying.

Because they found they essentially removed a lane from normal usage, pushing more traffic into one less lane. Nobody is sure if they are "slower traffic" so the err on the side of caution for fear of getting ticked (treated as a trucker who gets caught in the left lane(s) where they're not supposed to be as per signage). You will notice the cities with less routine traffic problems are those who are not very restrictive about inside lane usage and simply let the traffic flow in it's natural form without restrictions (even on trucks). Slow cars and slow, heavy trucks will not typically get in a left lane and ride for long. Does it sometimes happen? Yes but rarely.

Cities are responding to "4 wheeler" demands that want trucks restricted from certain lanes. When in reality, everyone should be in the left lanes if they are "through traffic" and traffic would flow better. But you can't tell some this.

Yeah, maybe they have experience trying to change to the L lane while observing the speed limit while oblivious motorists speed by at 15-25+ mph over the limit while maintaining less than 1 second between vehicles. It's not so much the excess (and usually wasted) speed, it's the asshattery with which it is virtually always combined. Rare is the motorist that moves back R to my front who utilizes the ample space I invariably leave for them, or who does not continue to drift R over the fog line.

The obviously preposterously false premise, virtually universally accepted, is that slower motorists are responsible for the emotions of those who exhibit little or no regard for traffic code. "You made them mad, and caused their road rage. They bear no responsibility for their own emotions, or the consequences thereof". There is something about motor vehicles that renders even the most intelligent among us 2 sacks o' hammers stupid.

the thing is that slower traffic is supposed to keep right.period.you let the law deal with whomever is doing 80 mph.it is not your worry.stay out of faster traffics way and don't worry how fast someone else is doing.THAT is the job of the cops.those signs that state "SLOWER TRAFFIC KEEP RIGHT" have no set speed limit on them, they are declaring just that, slower traffic keep right.

the concept should be easily grasped and comprehended.

so if that is the case, you should be get a ticket for impeding traffic for not following the directive of that sign that reads-SLOWER TRAFFIC KEEP RIGHT. you are an arrogant driver that is playing lane monitor.just do as you preach and the alleged speeding drivers worry about getting a speeding ticket.it is not your place to keep them from getting one.you are not a cop, merely a wanna be apparently.

Well, in that case, any person that passes another vehicle and is approached behind by another vehicle should be ticketed.

Oh, for gods sake, the law is simply to keep people who are driving slower (speed limit or not) from riding in the left or middle lane, wtf is so hard to understand?? I have a feeling the ones that are getting all pissy about it are the ones doing 63 mph in the left lanes or riding next to another truck doing a 1/4 mph slower for 10 miles... The Lack of common sense (and reading comprehension) from people is amazing...

comprehension perhaps? what would they be ticketed for? a proper pass? yeah okay.if that one vehicle stays in the left lane forcing the faster runner to pass them on the right, then yeah, that driver that refused to get back over should be ticketed.

following the lead of the signs that read "slower traffic keep right" should eliminate your concerns.do you fail to move over for an obviously faster moving vehicle, even though that faster vehicle is not tail gaiting you simply because you disagree with the fact that the faster driver is ready to accept a speeding ticket and he is wanting to get down the road in a manner faster than you currently desire to drive? I fail to understand your argument.

it is as if you are wanting to be an arse just because someone is driving a speed that you won't,or better yet,CAN'T drive.call in on them and feel better about it whether it is a four wheeler or a big truck.dime drop.otherwise just share the road and move over.simple.
