I recall that truckstop very well. It was one of my home bases for that part of Texas and local region for most of my driving years which was from late 80's through 2010's

They closed the facility force ability. Thank you for the pictures and the rekindling of memories. There are a number of truckstops that are gone now. Replaced with either a field or some big box store permanently. Sometimes I think my life over the years on the big road never existed at all when all of these places are removed from existence.

The threat level was pretty high at night in certain days of the week but I myself never really had any trouble. That buck special in it's holster by my chained wallet that I used to cut shrink wrapping all the time might have something to do with that. Open carried with that thing on the belt everywhere, even hunts point NY without a problem. There was trouble but never at that particular stop. The food was good. the staff attentive and the fuel halfway decent.

I like going by the shells of the old places on I 20 through west Texas. Also along 40 in New Mexico. Among other things them places had great food. One little place that's still like they used to be, Lisa's in Moriarity NM

I like all your stories. You should write a book. Your writing is fancy.

    Diners.

I think I remember the Clinton Jersey. There were a few in Jersey on state roads that were very, very good even though I might take 40 of the 60 acres in thier 4 car lot to go eat a hour. The Jersey wrote a law banning trucks to the National Network and so ended the diner travel.

One south of Rochester burned. I don't know what happened there. Another in Newport Ar also burned. A few more I recall burned. I don't know what it is about those places.
