Guess I wasn't the only one checking them out. I didn't go ask but did check one out. I'm glad you noticed all the little things and reported on them. I notice a lot of the little things as well. I noticed the wall plug you mentioned. There's another one just like it down close to the floor as well as a cigarette plug down below the bunk as well. I noticed they don't have the front curtains in them. I use the front curtains a lot. They are a huge plus in the summer. Air ride passenger seat was a surprise. To bad it doesn't swivel around like the nicer models. Anyways, thanks for sharing all the info. about the new trucks. I wasn't sure it I would get to check them out this week and was hoping someone would post some more things about them.

On another note...I have been running very good since Thanksgiving...and yes Majestyk...I'm running a lot of southeast again this time of year(hehe). I have another Florida load leaving tomorrow if all goes to plan. Should be able to turn it and get back to GP just in time to get a load home for Christmas. I'm glad things are going better for you SSB. Hopefully things go well for us all through these coming Holidays. I enjoy all the Post I've been reading on here. Thanks again and take care out there. :)

Yeah you definitely got the mojo for getting those SE loads. It is amazing how few times I have heard the word Georgia or Florida in the lists of loads available when they get to my name:) Oh well some of us were just born under a bad sign.

No love on getting anything done about this current load so just going to have to suck it up and deliver it myself on Monday. Managed to receive a call from outbound about 1800 with 2 loads remaining for Monday. A trip that didn't deliver until noon in Loveland on Wednesday or one that delivered Wednesday morning in Hurricane, Utah. I snagged the longer one with the better delivery time. Hopefully they will be able to arrange something coming back to the Dallas area after that for a load home.

Has anyone done this Hurricane load before? Who does it deliver to and what route did you run. I have ran some podunk roads in NM and AZ but have not tried out some of the a couple of those that I could use on this trip. Thanks for any info.

The new ride is rolling along just fine although the inverter plug in has stopped working. I don't know if I blew a fuse or what as I couldn't locate it. Was running stuff through a strip with a breaker and I reset all the options but no luck on getting it to work again.

The customer in Hurricane is Wal-Mart or Sam's. You will probably rollback to Henderson from there. I've delivered there many moons ago when I drove for Crete, but don't remember the routing.

I too delivered there when I was a Creten. I went north out of Flag...but it was on US and state routes.

Thanks guys. Going to try out some new state roads along the way that look intriguing.

Hey all, Poly looks pretty interesting. I only started driving in 2011, with USA Truck. They didn't sufficiently caution me about little incidents adding up to equal major incidents, so after a couple too many tidbits, they fired me last January. I did a short stint with a more local, smaller shop, but they politely moved me out by saying their business was decreasing and didn't need me. (Actually, I just didn't fit in with their attitude of skirting around rules and making the impossible happen.) Currently I am driving lumber around on local deliveries for a local business. But I miss OTR. Never did much west of the Mississippi with USA, and never into the Rockies.

Here's the question: I live south of Detroit, and wonder if Poly would be able to get me home regularly enough. I saw in the thread that some of you had loads up this way, so it seems like I could come home at least once in a while, but my wife has gotten really spoiled having me home every night and weekend. It just doesn't pay well enough, and is slowing down for the winter. From Poly's site it seems like I would meet their requirements (although only they can really answer that, and I understand that), and from what you guys are saying it seems like the miles and the pay are great (and certainly WAY better than USA). Do you think I would mostly be running between Detroit and Texas?

Back & forth each week? In theory it could be possible, but it all depends on available outbound loads going there. Make no mistake, this is an OTR job & dispatch will not make you any promises. However, they will work with you as best they can.

In the 10 weeks I've been here I think I heard the word Michigan about 1/2 the weeks. Like you said you have to be there at the right time. Kinda like a blind squirrel finding a nut...right place, right time. But being away from home is why we're paid the big bucks!
