Kenworth T660 - Fitzgerald Glider Kits
They don't have the N14 cummins anymore for this truck. -
Speed_Drums Thanks this.
-
There’s only 2 660 gliders listed on Truckpaper, and neither one is new.
-
Thats the thing Fitzgerald doesnt have any sleeper trucks. They only have day cabs. Also the 660s are pretty much gone.

Thompson does do the Cat rebuild for Fitz with warranty but it’s not a cheap option.m16ty Thanks this. -
I know a local guy that got a 389 from Fitz about a year ago. I think he said a Cat was a $20k upcharge over the Detroit.
Tall Mike Thanks this. -
He also said four year warranty thru Cat.
He was looking at a 2ws but there is a wait for them. -
Tall Mike Thanks this.

The option that Fitzgerald does offer is a Detroit Diesel Factory reman, long block, but it will cost an extra $5,000 + as an option. That is the good motor, and the one you want under the hood.
How do I know this? I was down in Atlanta a few months ago in framing my motor, me and Rawze made a service call up to a sand and gravel outfit to look at a Cummins motor. This outfit has over 200 Fitzgerald trucks, with a mix of Detroit and Cummins motors. The Detroits they discovered were failing at 200,000 miles. They figured it out quickly when they tore them down, chinesium internals. They tried replacing with the chinesium parts that Fitzgerald sent, but they continued to fail. They switched over to Detroit OEM parts, no issues, the trucks run and run and run.
How do you tell which motor you are looking at? I would run the Engine Serial Number through Detroit, if it is one of their remans, they should be able to tell you within a second.Tall Mike Thanks this.
