This. .. This exactly. I drive a 2004 suburban that I've had since it was like a year old. It's got leather and power everything, like the super nice one but now having 269,000 miles on it it's getting old and I was thinking maybe I would treat myself to a new one. To get a new one specs like mine I would be looking at close to $75,000.....what in the literal ####? Lol. I think I'll keep driving this one for a while until I find a nice off lease one like I did with this one lol.

yeah, i'd rather have a new pick up truck as well, but i ain't about to spend well over 60 g's for one either. the build quality on many pick up trucks, no matter the brand name, stinks.

i'd not even pay the high dollars for a toyota truck either.

my under 25 g's camry gets me to where i need to go. if i need a "truck for a day", u-haul has them for 19.99.

I recently bought a used rental SUV; fully loaded, 2018 model Dodge Journey, for $19K at AutoNation. Had 19K miles on it.

The 2011 Sierra I traded for the 2017 F150 had far superior workmanship than the Ford. Door gaps and panels fit like crap on the Ford. Even under the hood the GM was laid out much better and had a much cleaner look. Not saying the Ford is crap but GM quality control was much better. Can't speak to their build quality today as I haven't looked at the new ones much.

Last new car I bought was in 1986. Will never buy another new one. I prefer used cars and like the used rental vehicles; very nice loaded used ones on the market that are low mileage and cheap.

I'm stuck with a suburban because I need the room unfortunately. I'm one of the people that actually uses it instead of a mom with one kid backing into everything at the grocery store lol. Screenshot_20191011-153918.png
Now that is without taxes and tags lol. $20,000 down and I can have a $717/month payment for the next six years lol. Who does that? Lol

$75K for a new SUV would get you a HOUSE in some neck of the woods....

Personally,IMO spending over $25K on a pickup truck or SUV is asinine, even with inflation taken into account. Nowadays the cheapest new pickup truck you can get is a Nissan Frontier since the current style dates back to 2005!

A lot of manufacturers have loaded down vehicles with so much tech and gadgets (and jacked the prices up to go with them) that they’ve forgotten the “back to basics” approach for people who don’t need all of that!

    $63/hr including bennies.

Not a whole lot of sympathy from me.
I work hard to avg $30-$40/hr.. when things are clicking.

I don't see how people afford it. I make 90ish a year and my wife makes about the same. House is payed for and I still can't justify$717 a month. I'm guessing a lot of these people in them don't put that much down either. If I'm spending that much a month on a bank note it will be for something improving my property or something like that. I'm thinking this is like when the housing market went nuts and collapsed, same thing is gonna happen with cars. I could were spending 50 on one. They are big, nice, and if you take care of them you will get your money's worth out of them at least, I've put 230,000 miles and gotten 14 years out of mine so there is some good to them. It's just starting to act, sound, and drive like a worn out old truck lol. It still does what I need it to but it's got bumps, bruises, ripped interior in a spot or two, shakes, rattles, noises, just from being old but $717/month makes all those things seem okay lol
