Hello everyone. Hope this is the right spot for this. If not I apologize. So I will be going back OTR in the near future. Within the next 30 days or so.

My question- what companies still offer true OTR and not regional? Home time isn’t an issue. Will be pretty much living out of the truck. Company will need to have a rider policy for my girlfriend. Prefer dry van but open to any and all suggestions.

Oh yea and I currently live in North Florida area along the I-10 corridor.

Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.

You generally will need to put in a certain amount of time in that truck before YOU are allowed a rider. Not all companies have that for obvious reasons, for example go into a seaport? And your gal has no TWIC? Sit at the gate like a chained pooch until you come out in the rain. It will do wonders for your future.

Alot of companies use what we call Drayage about 200 to 1000 mile overnights every night Or every day be as it may. You will be loading every day, unloading same day later or next morning constantly. There are huge amounts of revenue in this. But only for those who can keep up. Most quit within a few months when they burn out.

My company, Britton Transport, might be just what you are looking for. I work on the flatbed side but they do have van/reefer. It is a smallish company (about 115 trucks). They treat me well. They are perfect for someone like you wanting to be out a long time. They hire from all over, especially if you are willing to be out at least a month or more. They do have rider policy. Check out Britton Transport.com for more info. Best wishes to you!

OP, sounds like you want what pretty much no one else wants, extended OTR. I would think you'd find 5 or 600 companies who would give you a shot if you're record is clean.

    Enjoy that.

@86scotty only problem I’m running into is finding a company that has a day one rider policy. I have 25 yrs OTR experience. Spotless record. Found a couple companies. Still looking. Not in a hurry. Doing my due diligence. I appreciate the thoughts
