I am amazed when I see drivers do this. They act like they're the only ones who matter, like they're the only ones on a clock or something. I sat behind some jerk from New Jersey in a fuel aisle one day for 15 minutes after I'd finished fueling while he went inside and ordered his lunch and bought a cool new cowboy hat.

He got some air horn when he was just at the back of his truck, dropped his new cowboy hat when he jumped, then got all up in my door about it. I told him he better just give me back the 15 minutes of my clock he wasted lolly gagging around instead of moving his stupid truck. He said he was only in for 'a couple of minutes.' I have him his real in/out times, which he didn't like, but stepped away; he knew he was wrong.

Fuel and get the heck away from the islands so others can do their business and keep moving.

Inconsiderate truckers often will pull ahead after fueling, and then go in, use the restroom and order at the local Wendy's (where of course there is a line) and then not be out til 25-30 mins later.

'Another' reason truckers arent 'legally' allowed to carry guns, as truck stop 'road rage' by tired/tight schedule truckers is common place!!

    EDIT:
Btw, kudos in knocking the hat off the most likely a 'super trucker' (you know, cowboy hat, boots, western shirt, Wrangler jeans, and fingerless gloves chewing on a stogie living the fantasy outlaw Merle Haggard wannabe life).

Hope it was in the day time and you didnt wake up too many sleeping truckers in the lot (?!)

The trailer should be lower than the 5th wheel plate before you back in. I hate drivers that leave the trailers setting nose high.

But you should feel the tractor take on the weight of the trailer as you back under it. I teach to stop when before the fith wheel goes under and pretrip your trailer, hookup air and electric before you abck under, this also is a prime time to lower the trailer if you need too. Also if something is wrong it is better to tell safety I have not hooked to it yet. Some of the qualcomm systems heave trailer track and know when you hook up. So quick walk around including checking height, hook up electrical & air then back under.

At this point you have to be very carful not to squirt the hat off accidentaly while your washing the bugs off with the hose. Be shame to get anyone wet.

One way to get back at an inconsiderate trucker (w/o affecting safety) and that he wont know (til later down the road will have an idea!) is to use your finger to write thru the dirt on his back doors, "I'm an A-hole." The CB'ers down the road will let him know! :biggrin_25523:

I collect seals off doors, then reseal them with my own. No they have a problem at the next delivery.Adding a lock to there doors works well also.

    revenge best served cold.

Good move, will make many drivers 'sweat;' but also many loads have their seals unchecked at destination (esp if not hi-value), and driver is told to remove b4 docking w/o consignee checking...

I had a short week since I was heading in for time off but still got 2200 miles. Past 3 checks have been $1000 each the last one being 1275 gross. I have been running this truck hard.
Delivered to the chicken plant in Berryville today running up US65. Had a line of pi ssed off cars behind as I was doing 25 up some of the hills and they couldn't get around me.

Volvo fixed my truck up for me. These guys here at Volvo Springdale are great. I have a turbo problem and have been complaining about it for months. The Knight shops just clear the codes and tell me to roll. They keep coming back. My terminal manager said to let Volvo have it and sure enough the same engine code was there. Volvo replaced the sensor inside the turbo that controls the waste gate, replaced a seatbelt (also bad sensor), and replaced a bad oil pressure sensor. Good as new. The knight shops kept telling me it was just my fuel. I had been running additive all winter and it would have issues in freezing conditions and in temps in the 40s on up. Shops wouldn't listen to me. I could hit a hill and as soon as I gave it full power it would fall on its face because the wastegate wouldn't open to allow the turbo to spool up. Those were my exact words to them and they just looked at me like I was crazy. I have been around these things long enough and drive a turbo diesel myself as my person vehicle. I can tell when something isn't right.

"It's just your fuel." A common answer to every problem a shop doesn't really want to take the time finding and fixing.
