How do truck drivers make arrangements to go to various appointments? How long in advance do you need to tell your managers-- for instance, if you need a root canal done, and you need to have a few days to recuperate from pain/sedation and so on.
Sorry, another silly newfer question from a newfer
going to doctor's dentists, other appointments

Not silly at all. You don't learn if you don't ask.
As a rule, I schedule my appointments for Monday or Tuesday if possible. That way, if I request to be home by a given Saturday, I'll still make my appointment(s) even if I get home two days late.
Of course, that is not always possible, particularly if you have a court date or other such appointment that you have no control over scheduling. Then, you just communicate, communicate, communicate.123456, bryanrutledge and TRKRSHONEY Thank this. -
Hey KateL-How are you?48Packard is right.Try to plan ahead of time and communicate. With both your dispatcher and the doctor. My doctor knows what i do.It might take a time or two for me to get in for routine things. If it does i'll know ahead of time and call them.I've had the same doctor for seven plus years.A few times i've had anti-biotics sent to a close to me pharmacy because i was 1000 plus miles away.My chiropractor i walk in.It's never a problem for me.Take care.Brian

i have delveloped a relationship with both my dentist and dr
that when i show up they fit me in
every job i have had keeps me away from the house on long periods with no end date -
I would also add it depends somewhat about how good your company is about getting you home on time.

At least two weeks in advanced and schedule for the day before. So if the appointment is on the 14th, ask to be home on the 13th so after the delays you will get home on the 14th
