I also love all loads into and out of the Costco in Owatonna, MN.
It seems nothing goes well with those loads.
I was supposed to pick up a load at Kimberly Clark this afternoon to deliver tomorrow at Owatonna.
I got there at 1330 and it was supposed to be ready by 0322 this morning, but it still had not been loaded.
After 3 hours of back and forth and waiting the load was finally voided off me.
I am at the point of refusing all loads that deal with Owatonna Costco.
They are never as they seem... never simple. Always a hassle in some way.
load that was rescheduled today for a liveoad in Colton Calif. ended up being dropped.
then drove here to pickup next load.
other driver text me due to snow, we going to Lupton az.
Spending nite at home and leaving in the morning
And after all that rant, my DM called today to ask if I would help out at Costco in Owatonna for the rest of the month.
She knew I wouldn't really want to, but I told her I would as long as I can still run things my own way. I don't want 14 hour days because they want me to push my hours.
I guess I can stand it for a couple weeks.
i40 exit 292. think it's called Hopi travel center.
switch loads last nite in Lupton az and had just over an hour left to drive.
almost made it here. was an exit short.
would gave made it if it wasn't for the short backup due to one lane closed.
pc the rest of way here since wasn't much room. on the exit.
have an appt. at 0600 tomorrow for a b and a service and have to get to shop today b4 1500 when they closed.

also noticed that thete us another company taking over the last 2 bays at the shop. used to be used for truck tire shop.

talk to one mechanic there and he said they just started and he said they were grabbing empty swift trucks and i installing the new tablets till they get other trucks in. gonna be open to the public

A planner kept sending me stacked pplans today with times that I knew I could not make.
I finally responded to stop sending me pplans until I set a PTA for them to work with.
Computer generated times I don't even try to do. Way too tight for my taste.
But the planners sure think that is how I run, for some reason.
And the whole point of those pplans was to get me on a Tractor Supply load, but I'm supposed to be going to the Costco in Owatonna to help out.
I'll wait on pplans not getting me back to Owatonna until i can talk to my DM tomorrow.
My Dm said I did the right thing ignoring those pplans. I am now assigned to Owatonna and will be planned out of there for a couple weeks.
We'll see how that all goes.
From what she says, if I don't have a back haul I will just head back to Owatonna for the next load, the miles are figured in.
One thing I stipulated in all this was that I will not run refer loads. Dry van only.
I have a hard time with those things. The vibration and sound drives me crazy, even while driving.
Well I don't suppose Owatonna is very happy with me thus far.
I delivered my load in Sioux Falls this afternoon, but have turned down several loads in the meantime.
They seem to like pushing hours to the very limit, and I don't go for that.
The last 2 loads were turned down because I had to shut down for high winds.
On concrete roads my trailer tires were sliding out from under me with 30-40 cross winds.
An empty trailer with high winds and rain... go figure.
My DM set my PTA for noon tomorrow. We'll see how the wind is in the morning.
