I took a load I don't like so I could get the next one.
This one delivers to Costco in Morris, IL by 0430.
A drop, and I don't really know why Costco is so lame about the times.
0100 - 0430, with no early or late delivery, when they have plenty of room.
I could have delivered it at 1430 today, but no.
To top it off, they probably won't let me take an mt out of there even though they have a couple hundred just sitting there.
Maybe I'll get lucky, but not in the past.
Costco hoards, and makes it very hard for us.
With a live unload I could leave with my mt, but not with a drop.
Doesn't make sense to me.FerrissWheel and dptrucker Thank this. -

There is a separate message that comes along with the load assignment, besides the comment in the notes, that we can not deliver early.
I was very surprised this morning when they actually let me grab an mt.
My Lowe's load was ready so I headed for Rockford. I got as far as Rochelle and hit a line of severe thunderstorms so I shut down for 3 hours until conditions improved.
That was delay #1.
Delay #2 was because of the trailer I picked up at Lowe's.
One tire was completely bald with steel belt showing.
I was sent to the Love's in Roscoe for the repair, so almost 30 miles in the wrong direction.
They found problems with a few more tires.
That cost me another 4 hours because Swift is SO slow to respond, then they changed the account it would be billed to and the guy had to redo the whole order and send it back for approval.
They were going back and forth about what needed to be done vs. what Swift would pay for.
In the end Swift screwed them over.
There were 3 new tires and one that used my spare and Swift would only pay for 1 tire mounting, among other things.
The guy said they lost $300 with this transaction.
Those Love's people hate Swift, almost as much as Knight.
He said, system wide, Love's is about ready to refuse anything to do with Swift because of the headache they are put through and the non-payment of bills.FerrissWheel, Opendeckin and dwells40 Thank this. -
I had a 1300 delivery appointment today and walked in at 1231.
The guy told me they only accept unloads until 1230 so I was out of luck.
Sorry, but the check-in kiosk shut down already. Nothing I can do he says.
I had to backtrack 60 miles to the Gary terminal to t-call the load, and that put a serious crimp in the timing for my next load.
The birtch of it is, I could have been there 45 minutes sooner if it hadn't been for a long delay in Indy for construction.
1 minute of timing, and it went from shiny with lots of time to dark with no time at all.FerrissWheel, dptrucker and Rugerfan Thank this. -
FerrissWheel and Moosetek13 Thank this.

I just watched Matrix Resurrections and I must say... what a waste of money and time.
Both for me and those making the film.
As an end cap to a great trilogy, nope.
As a reboot into something equally as good or better? Nope.
There is no reason for me to ever watch that movie again, or even to keep the DVD out of the trash can.FerrissWheel, dptrucker and dwells40 Thank this.
