JS Helwig & Son (Terrell, TX), although MS is not an ideal home location for them. Primarily company drivers, but have a few owner ops, still. Steady work, APU, long[er] hauls, TX, Ok, KS to eastern seaboard/New England and an occasional SoCal and back to TX/OK, repeat. They are now 100% E-Logs, though but their freight and scheduling works as well as can be for elogs.

I'm looking for OTR myself. Like to stay out 4 to 6 weeks, then take off in either OK, PA, or LA. Any recommendations?? Oh, and if I could see some states I haven't been to, that would be a plus!! lol

Thinking about KLLM since it's out of Jackson, MS. Husband wants OTR, likes to stay out 4-8 wks, and likes to roll. Since Feb though, have only seen him twice, so would like a company that really does think fmly is important.

Read recently that KLLM has a big contract with Tyson; maybe that's a good choice.

Howard Transportation in Ellisville, MS is a good flatbed company with more hometime. Check their website. I know from experience that flatbed is much easier than reefer. Those that tell you tarping & securing a load is back breaking work, haven't done flatbed, because that's just not the case. Made more money with reefer, but was more work & more waiting.
