Good truck stops with alot of restaurants around.

That Dennys has the best hamburgers of all the Dennys I've been to. Not sure why... maybe luck.

 

If you're not getting a room to stay just drop a couple hundred on a rental car for a week and go, do and eat wherever you want.

 

Pick an area that's more opened up from restrictions. It won't do you any good if there are businesses all around the stop but they are closed or limited.

 

I have only taken 5-6 days off at a truckstop because of a breakdown.

Because it was a breakdown, I had no choice in the location.

 

Do they have truck parking

 

So what do you get to eat there? Asking for a friend.

Petro in Columbia SC has a Quaker Steak and Lube with a bowling alley right in the truck stop.

Spiceland IN. Has a good steak house named Montgomery’s across from the Mr Fuel and good Indian food in the mom and pop truck stop next door.

Petro in Orange Texas has a lot of restaurants close by most notable is the Twin Peaks and Joes Crabshack.

TA in Kingman is a nice walk into downtown for s museum, bars and restaurants

any truck stop near a big city will usually have Uber.... and lots to do....



But me? 5 or 6 days I’m looking for more than a truck stop with good food. I’d want a casino or movie theatre, baseball games, bigger city downtown with touristy stuff or rent a car.

I go to Laredo TX occasionally and my trailer continues down to Mexico City. I wait for the trailer to return in a company paid hotel. I’ve rented a car and gone to San Antonio and Ubered all over Laredo to minor league baseball games, restaurants, etc....

Amarillo, Tx. The Big Texan has a limo service that’ll pick you up and and drop you off from some of the truck stops. You can try the 72oz steak, that’ll probably feed you for a few days.
