I moved from Los Angeles to Kansas City back in 2018. My California CDL hard copy was stolen by my dispatcher at a Walmart dedicated account in Harrisonville, MO. I don’t know how I got the job in the first place now because all companies need you to have a cdl in the same state. Long story short when I needed a physical copy to show a warehouse job and eventually start trucking again. This Missouri DMV recommended I get a normal ID in the mean time while I get my cdl hard copy from California. This canceled my CDL. Not being able to leave the state due to the long story I’m not getting into. I failed going back to school for CDL in Missouri and eventually went back to California for it. A month in trucking I get pulled over by DOT that gives me a ticket for #1 Having two licenses from two different states and #2 The Missouri DMV made another mistake and put an O restriction on my CDL that the DMV now say they can fix. Does anyone know how I can get back on the road to provide for family???
Got caught with 2 licenses from two different states. What does 8 points do??

The CDLIS won't allow the same driver to have CDLs in but one state. Best to see what the CDLIS is showing and go by that. When you move from one state to another as soon as that DMV person hits enter the CDLIS voids out your old CDL and moves you to the new one. If there is an issue I suggest hiring an Attorney because somebody fouled up big time!

Why would a dispatcher "steal" your "hard copy" cdl? Isn't that known as a driver's license? God I graduated from college twice and I can't make heads or tails of the OP.

CDL Legal said not to pay the ticket. I’m still waiting to hear back from them to get more info because I already did. The DMV corrected the restriction but it’s still on the MVR. My company said they’re waiting for the MVR to come back without it before they take me back in. They been working with me through this process. I ran out fingers on how many times I’ve been up to the Missouri DMV to successfully transfer my CDL going back to 2019. My advice to anyone transferring a CDL is to eliminate all the steps first, review everything, and find an experienced one to process it. And, don’t let DOT officers do you dirty no matter how bad u want to get home to see your kids.

Always get an attorney

First, CDL Legal said they couldn’t find an attorney. And, they were going to give me refund. Then come Monday they said they found one and it’s going to cost me $895. With rent coming up I’m going to be a couple of hundred bucks short. I tried contacting a traffic attorney but he doesn’t cover the area. And, Sisseton, SD is a very hard place to travel to. So, I’m praying for a miracle.
