Passed the General Knowledge and Combo tests today for my CDL permit. Got to drive about 6 miles tonite to get a feel of the truck with a trailer, instructor said I did pretty good for someone who has never used a manual transmission before

Congrats....you're similar to the position I was in.
I have been driving trucks around the yard (family business) since I was 14, so I took my permit test last June, and with ZERO on road experience, I took a truck down for my drive test in August. Got my Class A with the on-road experience of the test only...haha. But growing up around trucks I had basic knowledge of size, turning, and operation. -
wow never driven a manual? only guy i saw ever get into a truck without ANY shifting experience was more painful to watch than a small animal slowly dying. good work.
