After much anticipation I proudly announce I will be attending orientation next week for Western Express. What do I do? And what don’t I do. I’m going flatbed and also want to start a YouTube channel. Video ideas are welcome. Wish me luck.
Got my first Job, now what?

Cool, good luck! If you intend to do youtube videos, make sure you are well aware of their social media policy, if they have one.

Your company should tell you what to bring for orientation. If the company pays you by direct deposit, bring a canceled check or your bank routing number & bank account.
You will be drug tested.ducnut, nextgentrucker, Suspect Zero and 1 other person Thank this. -
Best of luck to you sir.
Chi Town Steers and Lonesome Thank this. -
You need some idea of how to show up to work?
You work.
You FoCuS ON WORK and learning.
YOU forget the stupid idea of starting a youtube channel, because if you have that much time to stick your face on youtube, you are not taking this seriously.upnorthwpg, Speedy356, Crude Truckin' and 24 others Thank this. -
Good luck, sir!
Texas_hwy_287, Chi Town Steers and Suspect Zero Thank this. -

Save the cowboy hat for after you have your solo truck. Cowboy hat takes a lot of room when you are sharing the truck. A baseball cap is better.
Put off YouTube until solo, IF YOU HAVE TO DO IT AT ALL. Remember, every second of YT can just as easily give ammo for firing you as make you famous. Roll through a stop sign, or some other traffic violation can be used to fire you. There are hundreds & hundreds of low-quality trucking YT. Focus on learning. The last thing the industry needs is another self-involved YT Hero talking to 4 people.
NEVER EVER PARK AT A FUEL PUMP, EVER. NOT EVEN ONCE. Break that rule if you are ready to practice MMA with nor warning.Crude Truckin', DRTDEVL, TurkeyCreekJackJohnson and 7 others Thank this. -
Good luck. Personally I would wait awhile before doing any YouTube videos. Take the time to learn well first. I would recommend checking out Supertrucker Dan, Craig Ryan, and Neil Shane Otts for good flatbed YouTube videos. Supertrucker Dan is the only one still doing Trucking videos but Craig & Neil have some good older videos.
tscottme and Chi Town Steers Thank this.
