I got the call yesterday (Sunday) from my trainer. He said he was in NC and had been dispatched on his load to Wisconsin; which is a problem since I live in GA. He said he was going to check with dispatch this morning and find out what was going on. It was a simple mistake, but - boy, did they take care of it! Within 15 minutes I had a rental car ready to pick up to drive from Augusta, GA to Gary, IN. They are reimbursing me for fuel and hotel. That is about a 12 hour drive and I am in a hotel in Lebanon, IN tonight with about 100 miles left on my trip!
It may be a few days before I can update, but I was very impressed with how quickly this problem was solved. I hope this is a good indication of things to come!
Got my ROEHL pre-hire letter today!!

Thinking about going to work with Roehl in GA. Are there any team drivers with Roehl that can give us the average miles for a team? We spoke with a recruiter and they told us 4500. That doesn't seem like very many. We're impressed with everything we've heard except the miles. A little help here, please.

I am in day 4 of Evolution I now. I am loving this! We are taking an OD load to the NE and there are a lot of restrictions during weekends there, so we are sitting in a truckstop in PA until Monday AM.
My trainer is good. I am on a flatbed for Evo I, but I am mostly learning driving technique and how to do paperwork and use Qualcomm. He is very laid back and easy to get along with. He has grabbed the shifter a couple of times, but other than that there is nothing to complain about.
I have been to the terminals in Gary, Ellenwood, and the home office in Marshfield. All have great facilities and these people care about their drivers. All the good stuff I have read on here about Roehl has turned out to be true - they are as good as their reputation - and we have been approached by three drivers at truck stops wanting information about working here - a JB Hunt, a Schneider, and a Swift driver! -
did anyone here go through the Honor program?
I waiting for this "pre hire letter" everyone is talking about they said i would have to do the DOT physical, some where around here, hoping some time next week.
so let me get this straight 3 weeks of school and go home to have a trainer pick me up in a few days -
Well Keith how's it going .... I got a letter of interest from Roehl today .... My school has you send out apps prior to taking the school so you know you have interest..... I start school on the 14th .... only thing Roehl has requested is a letter from my Dr. because I had an employment gap due to be the caretaker of my mother .... talked with him today and letter is ready .... So just checkin on you to see how you feel about your decision ....

I just got home about 3 hours ago and am done with Evo I. So far, I LOVE it. I went all the way up into Maine and across to Minnesota and now am back home in GA. I will leave for Evo II soon.
Roehl is a Class-A organization. Everything I read on here about how good they are is true. My trainer was fairly new and they put me with another trainer for a 4 hour ride home from Mt. Airy, NC. He shared a lot with me in a short period of time on the way home. He said if my next trainer was not to my liking that I should ask to be switched out and it will happen.
All in all it has been a great decision to go work for them! -
If anyone gets a trainer named John in truck 6898 that's my hubby.
