    Ok let's do some edumacatin.
Sign says "semi-trucks over 38 feet (kingpin to rear axle) are prohibited".

Anyone know what the shortest KPRA could be slid to in that 53' box?
Could a 48 ft Flatbed get under that KPRA with sliding tandems?
If the driver could've been able to get a KPRA slid in under 38', would he be legal on that road?

I honestly don't know the answers to the above questions.

    Could've he then be "unstuck"?
Maybe there's more to this, but I don't see a stuck box van. It looks parked, like he just gave up.

Definitely shouldn't have take that route, but it doesn't look like he even tried to get out the mess of his own making.

It’s just a KPRA regulation, has nothing to do with weight or the bridge chart.

On the contrary,California has both the short limit and the weight limit. The only other state with such a restriction is Rhode Island.

If I didn’t know any better I’d say the driver was trying to dodge the scales on 80 and tried to take a backroads route.

    Tall Mike Thanks this.
