Worked there for 8 days and told them on the 3rd day of an 8 day trip that I wasn't the guy for the job--I have hauled food in the past and apparently I bumped my head at some point and forgot just how much I loathe grocery warehouses. Made every PU and delivery on schedule during that 8 days. Received a company ticket in Florida for over dimension ($100). The head dispatcher got all defensive when I told him I was quitting when I got home and I thought I made it clear that I had nothing negative about the company or equipment, it was just hauling food that I don't like.
When I returned to Michigan, I cleaned out the truck, turned in my trip envelope and even gave the company a check to cover the ticket in Florida. I did it because I have integrity and it was my fault. That check was cashed 3 days ago. 2 and a half weeks have gone by and still no paycheck. They don't return my calls/voice mails or emails. This company has been in business since 1967, so I assumed they were an upright company. Pay was not per-mile, but percentage, so I don't even know how much they owe me. Short of hiring an attorney, does anyone know my options for getting my pay?
Thanks, Steve

Trucking Jobs in 30 seconds
Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.

Disregard, I finally got an email reply. They mailed my check, for whatever reason, to my old address in Texas. I was in the process of moving everything back to Michigan and had submitted everything for direct deposit for just this reason...Smh.
Other than that, they are a decent company from the short time I was there. Just be prepared to sit and wait and warehouses, and they don't pay detention. -
Does'nt look good on your dac report to leave a job only after 8 days.

They don't subscribe to DAC.

that's good. But they do have a phone. The next employer will call them.Better start thinking of some good excuse why you didn't last long.

Didn't even put them on any apps, and start a local job on Monday. This isn't my first rodeo....
"Why were you unemployed from XX to XX?"
"Extended vacation".pattyj Thanks this. -

How do you get an over dimension ticket with a reefer trailer? Just curious....
BTW, I worked for a company for 2 days, previous to the job I have now. Never got mentioned on any application.
