Great truck Polish? Where

I would keep an open mind. I hear some of the Italians do some pretty good work.

 

From what I've seen, I bet you could make some pretty good coin with the appropriate tools to do legitimate polishing. That doesn't answer your question in the slightest but it's just a thought that's crossed my mind before, not that I'd want to do it for a living.

 

If you get into Detroit area, there is a few great polish restaurants. Also in Hamtramck, there is the Polish Market, they have a variety of food to buy.

Who sands anything?

I had to learn the skills of polishing chrome and aluminum when I picked up a crap job between school years and no way do you sand anything to polish aluminum.

 

I had a business card once from a guy in Carlisle. Of course I don't remember the name or what I did with the card. Could always try Google though.

 

If it’s bad enough you got to sand out the pitting and scratches. On the right is 4 steps of sanding and on the left is first round of polish (out of 3
steps).

If it’s in good shape you can get by just polishing. If is been out in the salt for 10 years your going to be sanding.

 

Sanding is usually part of the process on any aluminum that's been neglected for awhile and sees road salt. Doesn't take long before pitting sets in. 320, 400, then 600 grit followed by a heavy cut polish and you can have it looking like new again.
