Review of Greater Omaha Express Go Express out of Omaha Nebraska.
There is not a lot of info on this company so I will provide some. This company owns the meat packing plant that you haul out of. They started in the trucking side in 2006 to offer shipping rates on their own product. From day one you will haul out of the packing plant. typical dispatch is well in advance so you have more than ample time to make the delivery but you end up sitting and waiting for your appointment time. Once you deliver you will wait for a load unless they for some miracle can get you a run that's half ### prescribed. Typical wait time for a load after delivery was anywhere from 3 hours to 30 hours plus. average week on the road was 8-13 days and average mileage in 8-13 days was 2500 miles give or take a hundred miles. Trucks are International Pro Star Maxx Force, yes these trucks have the regeneration exhaust system. The maintenance of the trucks is low to poor. Had a lot of maintenance and break down issues with this company. They do not wash the trucks on a regular basis and they do not detail the inside so they are filthy when you get into the truck. There is some slip seat here when they need to. They put drivers in equipment that has been in and out of the shop for the same issues for months without proper fix and they do this to avoid shop cost and keep some money coming in on that truck at the expense of the driver and the drivers mileage. Do not expect a per diem if you break down on the road. If you do a DOT number lookup on FMCSA their Federal DOT scorecard is bad for inspections and maintenance. Here is The DOT number if you want to do some of your own research on FMCSA( DOT#1496724 ). They have a rather high turn over rate. They are always losing drivers and looking for drivers. If your a zombie driver, drive for them. If not, stay clear from them. The people in the office are fairly nice but the business side is a one big mess
Whether you decide to drive for them or drive for someone else this is information to be aware of from a drivers experience with GOE.

Below is the email from Brenton J. Falgione at Greater Omaha Express who granted his permission to have his email shared publically on our blog and newsletter:
Desiree,
I am very disappointed to hear this and hoped we would be judged on the company we are not the company we once were. I too unfortunately see the 2 posts on “thetruckersreport.com” from 4/14 and 1/13. A little history about us. I don’t disagree that these things may have been happening in the past. In March 2014, I was approached by the Davis’s, the owners of Greater Omaha Express. They had some valid concerns with their existing management. After reviewing everything, I saw the problems they were concerned about. I saw the way the drivers were being treated and the poor conditions and equipment. I also saw the opportunity to make the changes necessary to build the family owned business they envisioned. I agreed to take over the company on 2 conditions.
1) I wanted free reign to make personnel changes that needed to be made to change the culture.
2) I wanted the financial commitment to invest the money we needed to in our drivers as well as our equipment.
I left Crete Carrier Corp after 10 years on May 30 to join Greater Omaha Express on June 1. I didn’t take this move lightly as I have a good name in trucking through years of following through with what I say. I Chair the Nebraska Trucking Association Safety Management Council as well as serve on the association’s Executive committee and the Board of Directors. I also serve on 4 community colleges Diesel Advisory Boards. We will do everything above board period. I have no tolerance for those that will not follow thru.
Since June 1st we have relieved the past president, safety director, shop foreman and payroll supervisor of their duties. We have added some wonderful people to fill these positions. The new team members truly understand that we are all supporting staff for our driving partners. It is tough to change a culture, but it has changed.
We have invested over $7,000,000 replacing trucks with new ones. All of our trucks are now 2014 or newer. Over 75% are 2015 models. We are split between Volvo 730’s with the I-shift automatic and Freightliner Cascadia’s with a 10 speed Eaton transmissions. All trucks have diesel APU’s, refrigerators, inverters and more. They are trucks ordered with the driver in mind.
We have just received the first 10 of our 40 new trailers we have bought this year.
We have made over $100,000 just in virgin tire purchases since July 1, 2014. Drivers cannot afford to be broke down and neither can we as a team afford it either.
We have increased the benefit package and lowered the driver’s portion of the cost. Health insurance for a family is now $55 a week with a $500 deductible. We provide drivers a life insurance policy at no cost to them. Dental insurance is very inexpensive as well. We have started a 401k program as this is very important to me. I feel we all work hard and need to have something to fall back on when we retire.
We have implemented a monthly and quarterly safety bonus of $.01 per mile for each. It is a very easy bonus to understand. No preventable accidents, tickets, or DOT violations and run 10,000 miles or 27,000 respectively and you get the money. We also now pay $50 for a clean inspection. This has helped our CSA scores tremendously, which as you know helps our drivers as well.
We contracted with EFS to supply our fuel card program. Drivers can purchase the items they need ( oil, additive, washer fluid, etc.) on their card. Drivers can pull up to $200 twice a week if they need money for expenses. We also now have EZ Pass in all of our trucks for tolls. We don’t want drivers to use any of their own money to pay for expenses.
I personally support women getting into the industry and started the training program at the Crete organization to help entry level drivers come into the industry. Given a choice I would hire 5 women to every man I could hire.
Although we are not perfect, I would challenge you to find a company that cares more about its drivers than we do or that has done more in the past 6 mos. to prove it. I would be happy to provide you the phone number to our only female driver ( I would hire 50 just like her) or any of our male drivers. I believe you will find we will always…always…always follow thru with our word and do what we say we will.
Thank you for what you’re doing to promote women in trucking.
Thank you,
Brenton J. Falgione

I started work March 7th 2016 at greater Omaha Express over the course of 3 weeks I madE very little money no miLe so I had to leave the company. I have a wife and 3 kids to take care of financially I could not live off of 300 miles a day and now that i left the company Brenton is screwing me out of my last paycheck ,saying I did damage to the truck...
I grew up in the trucking industry my family had trucks all my life I started out mechanic in changing tires servicing and have been driving for 15 years, never once have I had any accidents or or screw anything up that I did not admit to when I explained this to Brenton, his responce was i was STUPID, and i have no Education! And anyone that wants to hear it just send me your email I have the conversation recorded...
I have two friends at the company and they are both leaving the company do to the same reasons original in this post (review) Nothing has changed apparently with this company even Under New Management!
They have no contracts with any freight they haul retail for brokers i promise all you will do is sit and wait every day! Alot -
Because like any idiot mega manager he bragged on the seven million they spent on trucks and dropped the insurance a few bucks and expects to be applauded for it . How's this @ Brenton- salary your drivers or send them back empty if you aren't smart enough to preplan. It's the money , stupid ( best Bill Clinton voice )
