My truck was near 80,000 pounds hauling bottled water to Bradshaw WV which was around a hundred miles off the interstate. Took me three and a half hours to drive those hundred miles of steep and narrow blind switchbacks. The only address I had was Sunamco RT 83, Bradshaw WV. I looked up the town on google earth and found a cluster of stores with the name Sunamco on then so I parked along the road and asked the one guy I found there and he told me I had to deliver to the lumber yard down the road.

This place was hard to spot, not your typical looking lumberyard so I drove right by it thinking it was just an abandoned building. But when I get to the end of town I found a place to turn around and returned to the original spot again to ask for clearer directions. Luckily a fellow driving around saw me and offered to help escort me to the exact spot where the town lumberyard was at. Then the guy from the town gas station grocery mart across the street came out and helped get me unloaded with a forklift they had inside the building here.

At&t had zero coverage here so my dispatcher and broker were both worried for the several hours they could not get in touch with me. This is one of those deliveries I will be remembering for a while.

My dad had to deliver in a small town in New England. He called for directions. The guy told him "turn left at the stump!" Apparently there was a stump about 8 feet across. It was hard to miss.

I hauled newsprint into 1 horse towns in WV. My off the map shortcuts found me on some of the steepest grades i ever experienced outside of Ontarios bush hauls.
