Where their screwing up is fighting on the base of it possibly not being scientifically accurate/proven.

"They want hair testing to be evaluated by the Department of Health and Human Services before it is approved for federal tests"

STUPID! Then the DOH will "test" it, and approve it, because it DOES work. The thing they seem to be ignoring is that they might as well word it as "To work here you must give a DNA sample"! Now THAT will create an uphill battle for them. Like everything, it's all in how you word it. Completely pathetic of what the ATA backs, I seriously wonder who's side their on. Until they all we can do is refuse to work for those companies and let them know WHY!

The ATA represents the trucking companies, not the drivers The only organization I am aware of that represents the drivers is OOIDA.

Have you done any research? It will never be the dot test.

People with white hair will never test positive.

People with thick hair hold on to any residue longer.

Within the last few years the testing labs lowered their threshold for positive test because what they are looking for is small it's easy to miss.

It's not an accurate test but it can sure ruin someone's life.

Hell no,this company wanted me to lift 180 three times over my shoulders and I only weigh 123.Then they knocked it down to 100 I still couldn't do it.I did manage 50 lbs but that wasn't good enough.I failed 4 of the exercises, don't know what the other 3 were. All I know is the recruiter said safety disqualified me because I failed the weight lifting.Every company has a policy or two that isn't isn't directly by DOT standards. It's their way of running a more safer company so they can either get cheaper insurance or a better safety score. You'll either have to follow their policies and don't raise a stink about it or quit. But keep in mind you quit you're only hurting yourself, companies could care less.

OK all of you reading this whom wants to continue to use DOT prohibited substances this is what happens when you test positive or refuse to test, in the eyes of the Feds there is no difference. In most cases YOU will bear 100% of the costs to requalify. First you will need to contact a DOT certified drug abuse professional who will charge you hundreds of dollars and force you to take drug classes. You can NOT drive till this DAP person sends paperwork to the carrier MRO certifying you have finished doing this. Personally I rather you stay out of the industry.

"Personally, I would rather" ...take bong hits, while placarded, while doing 10 mph over the speed limit, while in the far left lane, while texting and surfing porn on the cell phone, while my rear axles move from fog line to fog line,as l reach into the ice chest to pull out a cold beer.
