Showing up at the last delivery of the week to deliver just before heading to the house and the guard asking you for your driver's license only to realize that your license is a hundred miles away at the truck stop you fueled up at first thing the past Monday morning.

Yes, I drove all week with no driver's license and didn't know it.

All this because of FRAUD! F'n thieves stealing fuel so my favorite truck stop now makes me leave my DL with them at the fuel desk while I fuel and they forgot to give it back....and I forgot to ask.

Word to the wise, get a photo ID (only) or use an old driver's license for fueling. They never look at the date.

Get a fake drivers license online. Give that to the fuel desk.
This is big business for college students that are too young to hit the bars.

You don't need ID to use a card at the pump.

I once gotten a call from a random phone number at 11pm, was hesitant to take it thinking it was spam, but took it anyway.
It was a guy telling me he found my wallet at a rest area I left an hour ago. When I got back I just gave him few hundred dollars cash that were in my wallet

Why do some fuel desks ask for your license and hold it until you come back inside?

    Couldn't say.

Only had to use desk one time at J because the pumps weren't working properly and they didn't ask for ID. Just the card. They did a manual authorization.

That's the only time I've had to walk in to buy fuel.

hope not dumb twucker Thanks this.

The older mom and pops that start the pump before you pay will collect some form of collateral.. which what sounds like happened to @86scotty

The Cefco Stops in Texas want your D/L if you can't turn the pump on outside. Not getting mine and we can't fuel there anymore anyway.

This truck stop holds your license just for the shower key.
