My 2007 W900 pulls harder than a 600 hp truck. I've been running SLC to Denver all summer pulling a flat 68 mph 6.3 mpg. This spring I put a one piece ceramic coated manifold and replaced both tired turbos. This pulled me up from 5.8. Before this spring, it had a custom " stage 1" tune and deleted the mufflers. Don't give up on the Cat. Mine is NXS 18 speed 3.36 rears tall 22.5 @68 mph I'm just under 1400 rpm.

I'm a little OCD when it comes to MPG, but the truth is that overall operating costs are what you need to look at.
Interest and depreciation on a different truck along with depreciation on the current truck need to be considered here.
Not to mention that if you bought the current truck at retail and will trade at wholesale and then buy the next one at retail. You will blow at least a year of fuel savings.
Yes 6.5 will make you happy every time you fill up but once a month you'll shell out the payment that will put it all in perspective.rjones56 Thanks this. -
When I was pulling a flat my avg mpg was 6.6. 05 W900L, 18spd, 3.36 with a Bully Dog. I always ran 65mph, I also had straight pipes on it. Have you called BD and told them you haven't picked up any fuel mileage? They can write you a different program to try.
