Thanks. I don't like the soot on the front cylinder out of the manifold but am told it is just a expansion joint. Hate to argue to have someone take my money too though. I am going to ask local Cat shop if they can do that test.
You don't think the extra power from the Bullydog brings on these leaks do you ??

On the expansion joint leaking, what would a DOT inspector say about that? It is an exhaust leak, and you could be written up for it, I would have it fixed.

The BD isn't going to make enough power to start causing any trouble, I have not had any issues since putting it on mine, other than this one particular bellows that keeps cracking, but this has only been a problem for the last two months. If it was the BD some how doing it I would have had this problem the whole time. The BD is set up to be 100% safe for the engine, on mine the pyro runs much cooler than stock, the water temp doesn't run as high pulling thru a stiff wind at highway speed, and when pulling west coast grades it doesn't kick the buzzers off nearly as quick as stock.

After 3 trips to my shop for check engine light and similar results I stopped at Cat tonight. Fuel Transfer pump was bad and was 20# under spec. Got scolded for filling fuel filter and then spinning on. CAC had NO leaks. 2 IVA's had been sticking. Am told I should see some results.

Good deal, that pump being 20lbs below spec wasn't doing you any favors. It will be interesting to see what kind of mileage increase that you will see now.

Those things and a good overhead will definitely make a difference. I wouldn't go single turbo. I know guys who have both tuned twins and tuned singles, and for everyday driving, the twin seems to be more efficient, and better jake keeping the Acert.(We be running the hills @80-85K) I would say you should get 6.5 easy out of that truck. I consistently got 6-6.25 pulling a grain trailer, heavy loads as I said, running 65-70 in a 379. But every motor, truck, and driver have their own things that work.

New pump has an update to it with a longer/stronger spring. Cat shops are more money but they are up on their stuff too. Pretty impressive outfit - told my wife it is like taking a truck to the ER room - pretty clean and high tech.

Just talked with a fellow that went to one turbo and said he gained nothing as well.

Just wanted to report back that we are getting 6.0 mpg all day long now - keep in mind - most loads 100 mile radius. That is up from 5.3 mpg. One shop needs a spanking and the other one a pat on the back.

    Oscar the KW Thanks this.
