There have been a few suggestions that possibly they may relax the hours of service requirement to try to move more Goods through the country or at least out of the ports.

You know how it goes. Follow the rule or you're in trouble. I said follow the rules to the letter of the law or you're in trouble!

Oh now we say we can relax them so it's okay. Safety is only a priority when we say it's a priority, and then we say it's not a priority that's okay, but as soon as we tell you it's a priority again you better do what we tell you...

Lol exactly. Makes perfect sense haha.

It’s like in the winter when the powers that be decide to give fuel haulers hos exemption to deliver and pick up fuel/propane. They preach following the law but when they need you all bets are off. Smh

They increased the hours in the UK as they're also short of drivers but one of the stipulations is 'as long as the driver isn't tired', that I think leaves the ball in the drivers court in the event of an accident. Most drivers are not running the extra hours because like you say, if it wasn't safe then it isn't safe now.

Doesn’t surprise me at all considering Walmart is taking the initiative to try to get their products moving faster to their facilities so they can get them on the trailers to the stores…

I worked in one of the northern California ports. Only truck drivers or personnel with TWIC cards are allowed to enter port restricted areas.
