Just curious if any of you guys do the propane in the winter. I have a good friend thats been doin it for years and seems to do great. Hes been tryin to get me to bring my truck over and lease on where hes at and haul propane for the winter. I pull a step deck and dump trailer but have some tanker experience just hauling liquid fertilizers and de-icer in the past. Just wanted some opinions and tips and some thoughts about it. Thanks guys.

Carry methyl htdrate and a rubber/plastic hammer. If you have a leak things tend to freeze. Carry extra "O" rings for your lines also. Remember that by the time you're done pumping off anything that was under your tires will have melted and froze again. I used to park on old mudflaps to keep this from happening. When it's really cold the lineups can be long as there is more volume required and less rack pressure.

i decided to try it out. so i parked my stepdeck. so far i like the bottle. lots of work going now, i think its gonna be busy winter. the rates are better than i thought on this stuff plus its round trip from the terminal. i'm prolly gonna be worn out by the end of the winter in time for anhydrous season.

its alot better than hauling gas and disel to those places that are either out screaming or wont hold what they orderd from a common carrier like i was leased to.i loved hauling propane, except when the wheather gets bad the more product there is to be moved, job security. keep the shiny side up and enjoy your new job yankin tanks.

so far i like it. its probley the easiest job i have had. long hours and like ya said, the colder it gets, the more product to move. The money has been awsome and i am getting home ALOT more than i was running the road.every weekend and once thorough the week. i still make more money doing this. like everything though, ya just got to weight out which kinda ######## you wanna deal with. one thing i enjoy is the fact that the racks are 24/7 and so are the customer tanks i deliver to. no shipper and no receivers!!!!!!!!!!!
