I run OTR by choice. It is my preference. I have done Walmart Dedicated and Local Beverage Delivery as well. Trucking is not a one size fits all business. There is something for everyone. I personally choose Long Haul OTR. Stay out for 10-12 weeks at a stretch. Take my hometime in 10-14 day chunks. My Company affords me the opportunity to work this schedule. Park my truck at my home terminal, leave all of my stuff in the truck, come back two weeks later, jump in and pick up where I left off. Works perfectly for me. Good luck in your new endeavor!
