Since everything has changed. What all do I need to do to get the endorsement?

And ELDT training now. BS scam, but you gotta do it. Written test only after your ELDT

ELDT training? I am studying now to get it and was going to ask OP's very question because I wasn't sure the which I had to do first was TSA or test. Now I know but I didnt see anything on NC's DOT site that mentions anything about ELDT. What is that?

Just more meat on the bone for somebody.

Get your fingerprints and background check started first. Might as well do TWIC while you're there.

Go to the DMV and get the test packet for HME. Find someone local for the ELDT. It's "a 4 hrs class teaching HME stuff". That's BS. Just go for ELDT and tell me you're ready for the test, when you ARE ready.

You pass the ELDT test and they enter it into a FMCSA database. Then you can take the written test.

7 weeks later I'm still waiting on background checks to be completed.

If you haven't had HME, you gotta do it. I've had a CDL over 20 years. Finally took the ELDT week before last, and was able to take the written exam.

    ""
The ELDT regulations are not retroactive; individuals who were issued a CDL or an S, P, or H endorsement prior to February 7, 2022 are not required to complete training for the respective CDL or endorsement.

If an applicant who obtained a CLP prior to February 7, 2022, and obtains a CDL before the CLP or renewed CLP expires, the applicant is not subject to the ELDT requirements.""
