I was told by the FMCSA that if I plan to transport any vehicles I must select Article 9 HazMat on my filing with them so I did. When my insurance company asked if I would be transporting vehicles I told them yes that is likely, but I did not purchase specific HazMat coverage and they didn't require it. Can anyone tell me if they are carrying specific levels of HazMat insurance for transporting autos?

Same here, they told me that I need to have class 9 checked because cars have fuel, and mark boxes 1 and 4, as carrier and non bulk C, NB.
Asked them about having hazmat endorsement on my licensce, they said no.

Sounds similar to what I was advised, except I am not sure what you are referring to with box 1 and 4?

I did also select class 2.1 and 2.1LPG, both NB to cover me if I were to transport RV's with partially filled propane tanks.
