Just dropping in to say wish me luck.

After 8 weeks of school working on pre-trip inspection, backing maneuvers and road skills I am confident but not over confident in my abilities. I will report back at the end of the week. I am testing at the Rome DDS in Georgia.

Collect a bushel of Peanuts when you go. It's going to tide you over as you wait your turn a while in that hot sun out that way.

You will need a certain time working out here before you realize we are working for peanuts. HA...

Good luck to you. If the school is any good at all, you will come back here and type up a problem you are having.

    A few words of advice.

If you are willing to sacrifice 8 weekends to obtain your CDL its a good program. Decent equipment and a few good instructors. The tution is resonable. You will have ample time to master the backing manuevers with both 48’ and 53’ trailers. If you are a self motivated guy and have a general understanding of driving & turning with a trailer, backing and shifting a manual transmission you should excel. If none of the above you are familiar with look into one on one training else where.
Atlanta Truck Driving school offers one in one training around the same price.

If you are looking to obtain your license in a shorter period of time perhaps 4 weeks of M-F classes look else where. My understanding is that the weekday classes have overall less seat time due to the high number of students.

The school works with a few carriers such as May Trucking, Schnieder, TMC, and Werner just to name a few.

Just to follow up, thanks everyone for the good luck wishes.

I am now an official class A cdl holder.

I've reached out to TMC and Melton so far, Im mostly interested in doing SE Regional flatbed. I've been told to check out Millis though they are not flatbed. Maverick and Averitt Express's flatbed division are also on my list or contact.

    Any other suggestions?
