I probably passed you going the other way sometime this morning. I left Noel MO this morning at 0500. I'm. Now at the Pilot in Daleville IN with a load of frozen dead chickens going to Gas City for 0830 tomorrow morning.

The flat bedders that will be hauling turkeys should be starting their deal next week. You can almost bet Maverick is hoping some of them will like it well enough to make the move permanent.

    JimTheHut Thanks this.

In the summer, we're the cool side and in the winter we'll give you all the moral support we can from warmth of our trucks. Right now it's 20 degrees in my trailer. Before long it'll be that outside.

I was actually thinking more along the lines of "Attack of the Zombie Chickens". If I'm ever hauling chickens and they start flapping their dis-embodied wings....I'm bailing out of this truck.

Made my delivery this moring and got unloaded right away in Oklahoma City. Ran up to the TA to blow Ballast. By the time I came back to the truck a had a wo picking up in fletcher and going to plano Tx. It is a job site and the street does not even exist in any of the search engines for directions. I was able to find the apartment complex's web site and they had a small map. From that I was able to put in the cross roads and now I am good to go.
I went a bit out of route on purpose to put myself at the picnic area 65 miles north of Dallas Ft Worth.
There was nothig any closer and I was warned by a few mav drivers not to even try to get to a truck stop in the area. So I am parked on the side of the road at the picnic area. No toliets....
Hopefully I can get some tv reception so I can watch the game...if not...what else is new.
    Have a good evening!

I went through their your the best out of 16000 applicants. And when the instructor told the story about someones parent dying and the guy going on to deliver the load. I should of got up and walked out. They kept me out three weeks until i complanied to the dispatcher Joey, What a D..K. Waiting around for work plan for 1-3 hours when they know where your going to be in the area. And if a driver with more time is in same area he gets load before you. I did it for the experience and i knew i had to suck it up if i wanted something better. After seven months with mav and my other experience i landed a job with Conway Freight.

Yeah because we all know how difficult it is to get a job with Conway Freight, lol. Glad you arent here anymore. You sound like a typical whiner. No details on what YOU did at Maverick just what you thought was being done to you. As for the guy who delivered his load,I know him. He delivered because he wanted to to help out Maverick. He still got home in time for the funeral. Btw Maverick offered more than once to swap off the load and send him home. So when you tell a story make sure you know what you're talkin about. If you did know the whole story but intenionally left out details that speaks even more to your personality and work ethic here imho.

Made my delivery this morning with no problems. Took about 2 hours but it is a job site, so what do you expect.
Noticed last night when I did my post trip that the lense was off of the right rear marker light....the bullet ones that sick out about 1/8 of an inch past the rub rail. It must have hit the side when I backed into fletcher...but the side of the truck never touched....I made sure of that.
So I knew I had to get that fixed along the way somewhere.
So I get a load right away to pick up at Edsco Fastners in Denton Tx. Pick up time between 1200 and 1300. There are no directions for either the shipper or receiver.
Call the customer and identify myself as the Mav driver with the 1200-1300 pickup. He says I don't know why someone would schedule you in at that time, we shut down for lunch between 12 and 1. He says let me check on your load. He gets right back with me and tells me it will not be ready until 1500.
I tell him no problem, I will get my light fixed two miles from you and it will all work out.
It is only around 30 miles away and it is 10:45 in the morning.
I send a message to my fm telling him what I was told and that I am heading to the TA.
I also put in a breakdown macro so that they can have it all set up for me when I get to the Ta (This part worked, nothing else did)
As I am getting on the President Bush Toll way I get a message telling me my load has changed.
So I call my fm and leave him a message about what is happening.
I then get a message saying that the csr says we have to be there at 1200 no exceptions and since I was going to get my light fixed, they took the load off of me and gave it to someone else.
Then he says, next time do not call the customer, call me and I can prevent this from happening.
This ticked me off just a bit. So I called him and got his voicemail again so I left this message.
    1. There were no directions so I had to call the customer.
    2. He told me they will be at lunch from 12:00 to 1300
    3. He told me the load would not be ready until 1500
    4. If I had called you first I would have been given bad information and I would sit until 1500
5..I am going to get my truck fixed and you can send me wherever you want to afterwards.

I then got a message saying that he was sorry that the customer had told me not to come, but the csr says we have to be there at 1200. Let me know when your truck is finished.

So my light is repaired and I am sitting at the ta in denton tx. My guess I will not get a load out of here until tomorrow but you never know.
I feel sorry for the driver that got sent in there and has to wait for 3 hrs to get his load. Maybe they will get it done early.
But I was done here by 1330 and only had 2 miles to go to get that load.
It was only 323 miles so not that great of a loss....
This is a brokered load I am sure and they gave us a pickup time that the plant was not able to meet.
    It happens.
I think from now on when I do not have directions, I will call my fleet manager and have him track them down for me...naw I can not wait all day and I want to make sure that they are accurate.
Maybe I should give conway a call....I here they are hiring!:biggrin_1square5:

    sewerman Thanks this.
