I'm afraid you're going to have to ask another flat bedder those questions. You're the ones hauling the turkeys. We can call it the Gobbler Division. We're pretty much staying away from them, hauling our regular freight.
As far as who gets what loads it depends on more than hours or seniority. Sometimes it comes down to who they think is best to do the job. The CSR'S and FM's watch and learn our running habits and how well we plan our trips, especially for JIT loads.

Hey I'm sure most of you that have been here awhile have been to US Steel in Ecorse, MI. Welllllll I had my first taste of that place this week. I checked in, got my paperwork, proceeded to the scale, scaled in and went to where I was suppose to be "L door".. I waited for about 30mins for someone to show up. When he finally did, he said what the **** do you want and I was like this is my first time here and wasn't sure if I needed to go ahead and back in or not. Well he came the cussing. I got cussed out because I was a "new guy there" and didn't know that I was suppose to be on the other end of the building. I explained to him that I was told to go to L door and was I not at the right place. He said yea you are at L door you dumb ##### but you should be on the other end of the warehouse. I'm thinking to myself, it would have been nice if someone had of told me that. O well, I asked him how to get to the other end of the warehouse and boy it was like I asked him for his last paycheck. Needless to say after him making me wait 2hrs to get loaded because I was a new guy I chained and tarpped and got on down the road. I have been here just shy of 2years and have been cussed out twice by shippers. I called my FM and told her that there will not be a third cussing. Job or no job, if a guy feels like he has the right to cuss me because I haven't ever been there before and don't know the procedures or where I need to be; we are going to go outside and throw down!

Has anyone heard or been told that we can't park on the side of the road going out of Midlothian, TX because they are writing tickets? I know we park on one side while waiting to go check in, I am meaning, say you run out of hours and want to park on the other side to do your 10hr break. I have parked there before and no one has ever said anything to me. Thanks in advance.

Sorry to hear about Ecorse. Dont blame you one bit I think I would have been very tempted to hand him his arse right there!! As for Midlothian thats a new one to me. No signs,no ticket has been my rule of thumb so the question is are there new no parking signs.

Oh I just put that in about running recap because all these new drivers fear the recap I need a restart. Us old guys ran nothing but recap for decades before they put the restart provision in.
