Heads Up - Volvo Owners - to this symptom - sounds like Trans issue ...
--> 2012 Volvo VNL ---.> while driving the other day near Chicago -
I suddenly HEARD THE TRANSMISSION Grinding NOISE - Drive line noise -
at about 35 MPH - BAD RIGHT .. wait
I pull off the road to a TA and the mechanic says its probably a - Pressure plate OR Synchronizer gear
Luckily there was a Volvo dealership 5 miles a way - I go there SLOW - still somewhat grinding
off and on.
VOLVO DEALER IN CHICAGO - WALKS OUT AND BEFORE HE REACHED THE TRUCK -
HE TOLD ME WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS >
ITS THE > Suspension "Leveling Valve" < he saw that the air bags were flat -
causing the noise.
Pro Dealer says there have been many a transmission pulled for this same minor symptom.
Part was 284.00 - one hour labor > this was a gift considering I thought it was a trans issue !!
Cheers!

Sad it took a mechanic to see the flat airbags on what should of been a very noticeable angle to the truck which should of given it away
