Very good company to work for. Had to take a family leave from Heartland Express, Personal Injuries at home need to be dealt with, involving 8 to 10 weeks at least. Last truck hurt to turn in, the only 13 speed in there fleet no someone else will be driving it. 390K they say it gos away at 400K.
Worked for the Phoenix Yard Southwest Fleet, Tacomia WA dispatch was very happy with them.
Will try and go back when the wifey is all healed up.

This is cool, it's the first time anyone has said anything positive about Heartland. Is Heartland all regional?
Lonesome, mitrucker, Suspect Zero and 2 others Thank this. -

I have said many good things about Heartland in the past. I worked for them twice. Once on their Texas only Sams Club Account out of the Dallas area and then again when they bought out Gordon Trucking. None of them are perfect and Heartland treated me ok.
Lonesome and bryan21384 Thank this. -
They bought a couple of other carriers over the last few years, no? Any opinion of how that was working out?

Folk Fries Thanks this.

As in all companies the driver manager has a lot to do with what drivers think about companies. I can only tell you that my experiences with Heartlands shops and managment wer mostly positive.
They do not encourage chains or driving in hazardous consitions, never had that to be a problem.JOHNQPUBLIC, Sirscrapntruckalot, Lonesome and 1 other person Thank this. -
You can find what ever you look for in any company, you wander around looking for Bad its there. But if your looking for a postive experience its there as well. I have nothing negitive to say about my experience with Heartland Express, From recruiting to running the lanes I want to run all were as promised, they equipment was maintained well, ran good no issues.
The driver rooms at the yards could use some work, but I try to stay out the yard no matter who I driver for.Sirscrapntruckalot, Folk Fries, Speed_Drums and 1 other person Thank this. -

I worked for Heartland. I had a FedEx load I relayed to another driver, on time, and the other driver delivered it late. They fired both of us.
Then they tried to fight my unemployment claim by saying the firing was due to a “service failure”. The state listened to me when I said “yeah, but it wasn’t *my* service that failed” and approved my claim.
Let go with no notice in the middle of Iowa. Not a fan of Heartland.surf_avenue, Gearjammin' Penguin, PpreciateItHaaaan and 7 others Thank this.
