First and formost Is their a page or link here that has all the compainies that pay for your CDL training, like Cr england? I'm broke and would not mind commiting too a company for a year or less. I can;t go with CR England, because they said that i have taking off of work the last two years and they cannot except me. SHe said she would LOVE to have me because of my back ground and military, but the DOT says since i have no recorded work in the past two years it would be impossible for her to except me. Does that make sence to anyone? I went into the Army at 19 seaved 12 years, took a month off after that and then works another 12 years with a casino, so 2 jobs in 27 years is not good enought because i took a couple years off?? Anyone understand that? I'm looking for my 3rd and last job in my life!!I have worked on and off with a painting company who said he will tell the next company i have worked with him over the last two years so i am going to look into EVERY school i can find until i'm excepted. HAve a great weekend and I do HOPE to see some of you on the road someday..

Can anyone answer why Cr England said they can't except me because i made enough money too take a couple years off, and the DOT said I had to be employed? HUH? Two jobs in 27 years and looking for my last in a truck

Something's not right because DOT doesn't make that requirement . That is a requirement of the carrier and their insurance company . Here are the FMCSA requirements .

Hi and welcome to the forum. You might try your local employment office. They might have a program to help you get your CDL.

You may also try posting that particular question in the 'Questions from new drivers' section. You may get a better response there. -
