AfterShock Thanks this.

We may need some type of spin off thread for these two, so they can continue their contribution to the future trucking population. I'd hate to lose track of them.
Kwaione and AfterShock Thank this. -
shaffer training is 8 weeks . i talked with someone in lincoln the other day and they said it would most likely be 2 - 4 week runs with 4 days of hometime between.

OK,
Before I get started I want to register a complaint.
OpenRoadGuy started this thread on June 2, 2010. I first became aware of it's existence on June 23, and read all the posts made up to that point before joining the discussions already in progress. I should have realized then that a thread generating 214 posts in only three weeks would require that I keep the pedal to the metal.
Now, ..... fast, and I do mean fast, forward to today, ---
Because of the fast pace and energy this thread presents, and my practice of, what I call "reflecting", --- which is to go back several pages from time to time to re-read some of the directions offered as advice on how to get from point A to point B, --- and beyond, to determine if we're all still on course and not lost somewhere betwixt shipping and receiving. What I've gleaned from doing that is that, to date, the trip planning has been spot on.
In the past, in other threads, there have been times when I would have changed what I posted in the beginning, knowing now what I didn't know then. Today, I happened upon my first post in this thread, and re-read it to determine what I could have posted, that I didn't post then, based on my first impression(s).
Here's what I wrote in my first post:
I'm convinced.
Which leads to my complaint.
As a result of the necessity to re-direct my attention from reading this thread as often as I'd prefer so as to respond to the current posts in a timely manner, I feel like I'm being left in the dust, lagging behind the convoy.
I've fallen and can't get up, --- clap on, clap off.
This thread shows no signs of losing momentum, that's for sure.
Now don't get me wrong, ........ I'm not suggesting that y'all slow down and wait for me. Rather, I'm hopin' somebody can provide information on how to extend a day by a few hours to accommodate my busier than usual schedule.
Until and unless I learn that trick, I'll be a day late and a dollar short with my replies as I try to keep up with the pack, runnin' hammer down. ................

I'm thinking it might be best to just bring my old micro cassette recorder and take notes that I can later update the thread with. They tell me they will dispatch my first load(s) back to the Jersey terminal where I can go home and get "the rest of my stuff".
It's been my honor to be part of this thread as I feel it serves a solid purpose as an educational tool to all those wanting to venture into this business. As a play by play of the process in which SO MUCH GREAT ADVICE has been given by all you experienced folks, I want to, as AfterShock says, "keep the momentum and enthusiazium going here".
Another question I have.....should I start a "My experience with W/S thread" or just keep posting here??
I like the fact that ORG and I are sort of "Team Posting" our experiences and having it all in one thread sure helps to keep it easier to find. But I also wonder if it won't become a tad confussing as I head out with one company, and he another....Hmmmmm...(scratching head).....??Last edited: Aug 12, 2010
