Started my 14 hour clock, drove for 6 hours, then logged to SB for a power nap. Logged back on duty, but noticed my 14 hour clock kept running while I was in SB... Is this normal or is my Qualcomm malfunctioning? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Good thing your trusty qualcomm is working, huh? You should buy it a beer, since it just saved your arse,

Your 14 starts whenever you go to line 3 or 4 and doesn't stop until you either
    1. Do an 8 hour consecutive in sleeper (line 2).
    2. Do 10 consecutive in sleeper or off duty (line 1 or 2).

If you did at least 2 hours in sleeper or off duty (line 1 or 2) you can do an 8 in sleeper (line 2) and you'll get hours back. That's called a split log.

Totally abnormal. Sounds like a glitch with the software. Call tech support and have them guide you through a hard reboot followed by 2 soft reboots. If that doesn't stop your 14 hour clock it might be time for a whole new truck. Simply replacing the Qualcomm doesn't fix this issue.

Your Qualcomm Omnitracs is never wrong. You may not like what it's telling you, but it's never wrong. It knows the HOS rules inside and out. It might on rare occasion freeze up, but it's still mostly bulletproof. I have seen them with bugs following system updates but these bugs don't happen often and get corrected promptly.

In addition to the 14 hour countdown timer, there's also an 8 hour timer. All of this should have been covered by the CDL school and any trainer/mentor.

Here ya go..... Winner winner chicken dinner.
Also don't forget bout you 8hr DOT 30min break clock too. Hopefully your power nap was an additional 2 hrs.
If you only slept say 1 hr your 8hr clock is now at 7 leaving you 1 hr left till you would have to stop for 30min. Understand?

    Lepton1 Thanks this.

The OP drove for 6 hours.. so long as they are in the SB for 30min then the DOT 30 min break is met.... They will only have 5 hours of drive time left, so no need to take another 30 min DOT break.

Drive 3 hours, take 30 min break.. drive 8 hours.
Drive 8 hours, take 30 min break.. drive 3 hours.
Drive 6 hours, take 30 min break.. drive 5 hours.
