So are we going to be late with that damage freight? Preventables to be sure.

All this technology in place and we still do stupid stuff like going into a storm on a bridge.

Tall Mike, buddyd157 and mhyn Thank this.

Love the 4 way flashers on, as if the trucks on their sides isn't enough. Note to newbies, use caution crossing open bridges empty in a gale force wind,,

The possibility exists they were stopped with their flashers on, then got blown over. If that is the case I don't know what the drivers could have done to prevent what happened.

Not be there is a good way to not get blown over on the road. Kind of hard to be given a preventable if your parked in a legal parking spot loged in as off duty.

Actually, I live in the area and we did NOT have sustained high winds around here at all. It was not a huge high wind type storm. Here we only had a few minutes of high wind gusts. It may have been a much higher wind event up where the those truckers were at. Unfortunately for tthem those high wind gusts happened right when they were crossing that bridge.

How do you prevent an incident like this from happening again ?

Do you not drive at all when there are storms with "possible" high wind gusts or what ?

    I really don't know.

This happened to me once. Not on a bridge, but a major storm came and all traffic stopped. I was stationary and a big gust of wind shoved me over.

This is going to make me look at weather forecasts more detailed than just precipitation

That's a tricky spot, with high hillsides on bother sides of the road on either side of the bridge it's hard to tell how the wind is blowing until your actually in it.
