Thanks for that. And I sure will. Finding a decent place to eat nowadays is almost impossible out here on the road.

I agree usually fast food is all we can find out here anymore with just a few classic places still hanging on, most decent places with truck parking have been closed for years.
Also it's funny you mentioned Village Inn since that's the name of a place I stay at when home in Virginia lol.

You’ll definitely get your moneys worth there. They have (had) room to park a few Bob tails in the lot, or the whole unit across the street last time I was there 5yrs ago. Make sure to scale out when you’re done there. The scale is pretty accurate.

You can drop down and pick up 80 coming out, it’s a lot quicker than rolling across SD and taking the 2 lane.
    Have a safe ride!!

I used to love going to Michael Foods for the trips to CA. My friend thought I was crazy for wanting to go to CA, but I always saw it as a fun trip. Even the traffic didn't affect me after awhile.

My pick up in Gaylord, MN went without any hitches. They’re a direct customer for us and typically always a D-N-H.

My delivery is a live unload in Buena Park, CA Friday, and that customer is always a pleasure — Always fastunloading.

Last thing, it’s far to point out that although we’re areefer carrier we don’t deal with a lot of lumpers. I’d say 75% of our unloads you’ll find that the lumper feeis prepaid, or the facility has their own folks to unload

Do they have APU's or decent size inverters? How picky are they about idle time when it's needed? And do you remember how long the waiting period is to get health insurance?

The insurance is the first day of the month following 60 days employed if I'm not mistaken.
The trucks don't have APUs currently but I think they might be testing them. Right now we have the optimized idle from freightliner plus it has the park smart system. For me even though I would prefer an APU I haven't had any issues with this and I've been in Arizona at 130 degrees and Fargo at - 30 and it's kept me comfortable.

They all have the Park Smart option. I believe the batteries for the PartSmart are independent from the engine.

I’ve never had one issue with idling. The truck will turn on and run about 1-2 hours every 3-4 hours if you’re in a very hot area of the country. Think — AZ and along the I8.

    Just an update:

    Received my preplan—

Pick up in City of Industry, CA @1500 -Friday 8/15

Delivers Monday Sumner, WA, @0800 8/18.

This is a direct customer load. About 20 Emty miles and 1123 loaded miles.

I’ve been to both pick up and delivery locations several times and they are both fast loading and unloading. It’s just an inner company commodity transfer to a different warehouse.

I thought Holland was only company drivers, but I saw a blue Kenworth today with a different company name on the sleeper pulling a Holland trailer. It said operated by Holland Enterprises on the door.
