Sounds like he pulled from the shoulder in to the slow lane with zero regard for traffic. Same reckless driving style that has become a daily occurrence.

"The trucking company later sent over dash cam footage from the truck, which showed Hall swerving back and forth before a quick move towards the cable barrier next to the shoulder, causing the motorcycle to crash. Multiple witnesses report that the semi truck appeared to be intentionally swerving back and forth and moving onto the shoulder to block the motorcycle from passing. "

why was the motorcycle passing on the shoulder?

Parking on the shoulder for non emergency reasons is becoming the norm. So called professional truck drivers come on here to defend it. People die. Come on folks.

I get what you're saying. At the same time, if hitting the bike was in fact an intentional act, or even if he didn't mean to actually hit him, but he did deliberately swerve his way to scare him, does that really change very much?

    Badmon and Magoo1968 Thank this.

    It depends.
If he intentionally swerved to hit the bike but not intentionally kill the rider, that’s vehicular homicide (equivalent to second degree murder in some cases). If the driver intended to hit the bike and kill the rider then that would be considered first degree murder.
    (It would show premeditation).
If the rider survived then it would be assault with a deadly weapon (the semi itself).

In Colorado, you can lose control of your vehicle on a grade because your brakes aren't working , pass a brake cooling area and a runaway truck ramp, kill four, injure a dozen, and destroy 28 vehicles and get 11 years.

Nothing against you.We met once. So it’s not a jab at you. But if someone passes a brake cooling area that’s just dumb. There’s no reason not to stop and look, heck Atleast walk around and smell.
