I am out of High Point. Yes you can use the truck. The line 5 off duty driving is limited to 30 minutes at a time. If you need to go farther than that I would just log it normally. You will probably get a reset in next week or if you log On duty not driving, during class have enough rollover hours to run anyway.

I also remember thinking how big Greer was. The old Morrow terminal was really tiny, shared the space with other carriers. Now ours is much bigger. I wonder which terminal is the biggest out of them all. Do all the new guys do Greensboro runs? I went there like 10 times when I started. It's a good run, easy to get in and out of, never any issues.

Not sure about the Greensboro runs but it was my first and probably only one for sometime. Though I could have taken my own car to Greer it was better to get paid coming up this way to Greer and back once I am done with the schooling here.

Well, first day of class went pretty well. Spent the first hour of the morning getting the feel for the environment and I admit I found myself laughing a few times throughout the day, considering the fact that I don't always smile very much (trying to work on). I also found out that the personal conveyance has a max of 60 minutes per day, so I would be perfectly fine using the truck going to/from the training center and to the store as needed.

Will be interesting in how the rest of the week will turn out.

They do have a lot of land at Greer. My guess is Pasadena is the biggest terminal. Where in Greensboro did you go? P&G

No it wasnt P&G, it was to a different customer, off E. Terrell St. Pretty easy location, had me unloaded in under an hour.

Day 3 of class going well so far, lots of laughs in between. I will say though I have a much better understanding on hazmat and HOS. Gonna be starting the Smith System after lunch (we had late lunch today).

Well, Day 4 of class is finished....did the Smith System ride today. Granted, I didn't mind doing the ride and applying what was taught, I just hate to talk that much lol because I am not much of a talker, especially around others. Of course one of the guys was much quieter than I was and didn't say a whole lot during his turn. Just glad to finally have that over with.

Final day of class tomorrow, and the terminal already has my load at the yard for La Porte TX ready to go so will be heading out as soon as class is done. Will be nice to finally get home and then need to arrange to pick my car up from the shop. Gonna be busy for the next few days.

    wsyrob Thanks this.

That is where all the snot runs out to California come from. Lots of great runs out of there but some stinkers too. Coal mines and NY City come to mind.

Training is finally done! Now I am an super-official employee lol. Greer dispatch had a preloaded trailer ready for me going back to Pasadena so I hope to be back home tomorrow night. Currently in Lincoln AL taking my break. Also was informed earlier this afternoon from my dispatch that a driver is currently stranded in Meridian MS. Apparently his new Mack broke down and currently at the dealership and they are having a hard time figuring out what it is. Hope the International didn't sneeze on the Mack..... He's been in a hotel in the area since Tuesday so I've been instructed to pick him up tomorrow on the way back to Pasadena. Should be an interesting drive!
