I should sell my big truck, and get one of those burger wagons. Park it on the rough cob they call a road here at Colwich. I'd make a small fortune ill just bet ya.

Nice idea! However if they are hauling to colwich probably aren't making enough money to be able to buy food. They used to have a food wagon that came by the bean dumps at Cargill. I haven't seen it last few times I was there.

There's a gut wagon that shows up at Cargill in Omaha, three times a day. He wouldn't show up, if it wasn't profitable. He even sells smokes. Once your there, you'd better have about 19 hours of provisions, or buy from the gut wagon. :biggrin_25525:

Wow Matt lol, that is a lot of sleep time. There's a Mexican guy and his wife that ride around in a pickup truck with burritos. They visit the Cargill south lot quite often. Their burritos ain't half bad.

I am in the middle of developing a new invention. I am calling it the "Colwich Move it Along Alarm". It will have a motion detector set for about ten foot. When the truck in front of you moves up the alarm will go off. That way you can get some good hard sleep 20 minutes at a time in between those pesky pull ups in line.:biggrin_25518:

After that I am going to develop the Cargill bean line "whats your number" ticket number displayer. Every time somebody beats on your door asking what number you are. This little doo hickey will project a heads up display of your current ticket number. The upgraded version will have an option to "shock" the knuckles of who ever touches your door while cursing them in spanish.:biggrin_25525:

Or maybe after that the Cargil porta potty lysol bomb. Same function/idea as a bug bomb for your house. But, this one will be filled with lysol instead.

Those would be good inventions. You're describing those places to a "T"...I got a good laugh from that.

:biggrin_25514:I love it!!!!!!! thats great all very good ideas

here I had the same guy wake me up 3 times to ask what I had on and I told him corn 3 times!! granted he is the fill in mill operator but I now carry me a sign that just says "CORN" to hang on the door if he or one of the other non-regulars are working

here after they test you justback into a row beside the mill and they come get you so yo can catch some sleep without having to pull up

during harvest at PPI one night they unloaded all night but they were full so they were only dumping 3 trucks an hour but they didnt let any one in the gate after 11 I got there just before 11 but after counting trucks figred I wouldnt get unloaded til about 6 AM anyway so I parked in the lot set my alrm for 5:30 got up pulled in the pit right behind the same guy that was the back the night before he had been up all night and was about dead to the world he parked and went to sleep and I (all nice and rested) headed for the field

I am sitting at the Pilot in Decatur, IL and just got loaded at ADM (corn glutten pellets) the fastest I have ever been loaded at this place was their last then an hour and had three trucks a head of me.

I have been in the snow, rain, ice and fog all day and it is coming down real good here. RW if it hasn't hit at your place I think it will tonight. It was coming down pretty good when I left Bloomington.

If I knew their was a truck show I would have had to make a detour.

    Be safe!

We started with about 1/2 inch of wet snow this morning, then turned to rain most of the day, now it has turned back to snow. The highway here wasn't slick, just wet. There weren't many other guys hauling, so I had a really good day, no waiting in line.

The show in Peoria is pretty decent, probably just a tiny fraction of what Louisville is. Last year there were probably 2 dozen show trucks, the boss from the chrome shop mafia was there selling parts with one of their trucks on display, state police giving demonstrations on what they look for in a vehicle inspection, lot of stuff to see. A break in the winter monotony at least.

If the wether wasn't bad I would run up their and check it out but I better not. I got all weekend to go 460 miles to Beebe, AR. I figure 230 tomorrow and 230 on Sunday, don't want to work my old truck to hard.
