how long can you drive as far as distance and hours go? Are the rules any different than they are for trucks with sleeper?

Average speed in the logbook will be checked and used against you for speeding where possible.

Fuel stops and toll tickets or other things with a formal date and time stamp (Which is why you do not time stamp a #### thing where possible....) will be supported by a notation in your logs at that moment in time. Meaning if you hit a toll gate on the PA Pike, you entered that into the paper logs back then.

Federal Hours of Service. The cornerstone of everything related to Hours of Service.

Even God would have had to log the construction of the Earth, space and everything else light and dark as on-duty time less than 7 days.

    Hours of Service

    Start quote

We once heard someone make light of keeping (or falsifying) a log book by chanting a pithy rhyme:

"Show the company what they want to see
and don't get caught by the DOT."

But obviously, this is no laughing matter.

This is from FMCSA, not truck stop talk, I have recorded 720 legal miles. This is before the 30 minute rule went into effect, also done in TX at night where speed limits are higher. Never had a problem.
