    Anyone hate this also?

    - Paying for things at a store, I'll use a fuel / gas station for example.
Getting rung up at the cashier. Person behind then stands beside you, invading that "personal" space when your digging through your wallet.

Quite a few times, Look at the person say step back. I get that blocked in feeling. Get dirty looks, so far no confrontations. Sometimes just turn back to them can watch them out of corner of eye and dig in wallet.

It's not paranoia, Just invading my space.

    .
Just ask them if they need some help with their shopping. That usually catches them completely off guard LOL

I can't think of 5 times it's happened in my 55 years. But then again, there are different types of personalities that come into play. Psychology Today magazine did a thing on personal space and it would appear that the more angry, dissatisfied, and generally negative type people require more space. However, despondent or grieving types didn't mind people being close. Inmates generally demand a 3 foot perimeter around themselves.
It was sort of interesting, but the thought of cons comes to mind. They smile and play all friendly to get close to you, get in your head / pockets any way they can. I don't blame a lot of people for avoiding eye contact, and keeping their backs to others in lines.
    People are like a box a' chok-a-luts.

The hovering close thing bothers me, but not as much as another personal space issue.

Say I'm leaving the store same time as another driver. Say the door is the push out kind. Other driver pushes the door open, but waits for me to go through first while leaning out and blocking half the doorway.

Now I'm a fairly small woman, but in that situation I'm not getting through the door without touching the guy, especially if he's even a little bit chubby.

If it involves you copping a feel, it's not courtesy, OK?
