I work at a car dealership and do a pretty good business over the internet with people from all over the country. Many people want to know shipping costs.
When you go online to get a quote you meet brokers who just toss out a price which may or may not be picked up from someone on a trucking board.
I need to know prices- not a "we'll see if they take it" quote.
How do I skip the broker and get in touch with car carriers.
I'm just about to start driving around truck stops when I get fuel to see what names and numbers I can copy off trucks.
Please Help!
Jerry

Hello, My name is Frank
-
You really need to know the background of the hauler . Get their DOT number and check them out at http://safersys.org Click company snapshot , enter the DOT number and check them out . Be careful becaause some illegal haulers will use a DOT number they just saw on a transporter .
Going cheap isn't the way to go . It costs money to run a business nd maintain equipment . If you get an illegal hauler your vehicle may end up impounded by the DOT . TN and AL DOT target 2 and 3 car wedges . -
Where did you see that they were using info they saw?
It would not be surprising since when you have signs made, no one verifies the lease info anymore.
Also, during all of the Level 1's I have had, not one has ever requested the leasing information. -
Go to carhaulers.com or do the trkstp thing. Get rid of the middleman,I am a carhauler myself
-
One of the haulers on u-ship had a customer call for info on a load after he looked up the dot number the hauler that took the used on safer . The hauler knew nothing about the load .

Not many ways to keep people honest anymore.

I know of a Boat Hauler out of Mt Clemens MI that used another companies DOT number until he got caught.
