I have recently obtained my CDL through a great training program and I am having trouble finding a company that takes new drivers due to my criminal background.. I was arrested in 2012 for conspiracy to traffic 14 grams or more of oxycodone.. almost 12 years ago.. does anyone happen to know how far back most trucking companies check criminal backgrounds? Should I just not mention it and hope for the best ?

Most trucking companies with ask something like, "Have you had a felony within the last 5 yrs. or 10 years, etc."
Mitchstock Thanks this. -
Where is your location; state & nearest city/town?
Do you have any endorsements?
Yes, list the felony and make sure the date is listed. Your felony is 11 years old, so several companies will hire you if you can pass a drug test; urine or hair follicle.Mitchstock Thanks this. -
Don't mention the word "trafficking" and let the trucking company figure that out.
Submit the application before calling; this is important. The trucking company websites have a short app. to submit. Submit that before any phone calls.silverspur, tscottme and Mitchstock Thank this. -
