My company (Transport National) genuinely cares about us as drivers. Between the awesome safety bonus for each quarter then a yearly safety bonus, to the birthday cards that they give each member of my family on their birthdays. This place is such a great place, no hands being held, awesome freight, and respect along with it.
I just can't say enough about these guys.
How many companies you know so this?

Very cool.
This is a perfect example of the message I cannot get across to these drivers who come on here and defend the megas like is going on right now in the JB Hunt section of Bad Companies. There's a big difference in the way some companies take care of their drivers.
I think it's awesome that they recognized your anniversary, and to give your wife some recognition to for her sacrifice whatever that might be for your job.OLDSKOOLERnWV, driverdriver, BigBob410 and 4 others Thank this. -
Happy trails and a sunny day.C & C, halfassdriver, OLDSKOOLERnWV and 3 others Thank this. -
One in a million. Actually, I think more companies are beginning to realize, we better treat the drivers we have with a little more respect.
BigBob410, x1Heavy, Gunner75 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Thats great that your company would do that, as long as they aren't shorting you on pay up front.
Ive seen it both ways, hope yours is in the positive way. -

Very few co's like this anymore...when you do find one, you do everything you can to keep the job..

That is awesome they would do that. (But $50 is really kinda chincy) But not many like that anymore. Back in the 80'same company I worked for. Always sent wife flowers on birthday, kids a age and gender approximate present up to they were 12. They knew stuff like that helped keep the wife happy. Happy wife, happy life.

A few years ago my wife's company met a big production goal. As a thank you to the employees, the owner gave everyone $50 gift cards. He spent something like $10,000 out of pocket to show his appreciation, and half of the folks complained about what a cheap ahole the boss was because he only gave them fifty bucks. -
Hey I didn't mean to insult you or your boss!! Was just stating my opinion. BUT how in the world are you (or anybody) supposed to take wife to "anniversary" dinner for $50? My thoughts are if taking wife out for that special dinner at family chain restaurant. (Applebees, long horn etc)... appetizer 2×$7.99=15.98 entree $13-22= avg 17.50×2= 35 desert $7.99 ×2=15.98 drinks (just soda) $3.99×2=7.98 so to recap 15.99+35+15.98+7.98= $74.98 plus tax and tip $100
And that being my cheapskate. Now me taking my wife to capital grill or chophouse double that add on a bottle of wine $50 and change to mixed drinks instead of soda another $35. That' how I come up with that. The owner knows this or do you think the owner takes his wife to Mc Donalds or pizza Hut for their anniversary?
$50??? Instead of saying this is money to go to dinner. A nice card and delivered flowers would have worked better. Instead of making me spend an additional $50-150
